The archaeological team of Ark-byroo is heading to the field again to conduct inventories and excavate a wide range of sites. The findings will be used to produce up-to-date information on the number of archaeological sites and spatial data.
Last year, our archaeology team discovered a Venetian-style glass winged trophy “A façon de Venise” dating from the 17th century at a site in central Helsinki. The wing trophy was made somewhere other than Venice.
The research team also found Swedish customs plomb, also known as lead signet. The front of the signet shows the Swedish King Frederick I (reigned 1720-1751) and on the back is the Swedish imperial symbol, the three crowns. The signet dates from 1739, when the signets were first used.
